FAQ

1Digital Printing
Digital Printing on textile fabrics is a process using inkjet technology to apply colour using specially formulated inks that are designed to produce long lasting, flexible prints resistant to cracking and fading. The system utilizes CMYK 6 Colour plus White to produce photographic results with a broad colour range on both light and dark coloured garments.
2Setup charges
Setup charges for digital printing are a very minimal cost for checking the art file supplied to ensure print quality and are included in the price of the first few shirts.
3Multiple designs
Multiple designs are considered as individual jobs, although if ordered together at the same time, savings can be made on shipping costs.
4Eco-friendly ink
Eco-friendly ink is used in our Industrial printer to give worldwide Oeki-Tex 100 certification which is globally accepted for infant and baby wear.
5Artwork requirements

Artwork requirements are fairly simple. Most rasterized/bitmap art can be used although some may give unexpected prints. For best results:

  • Produce new art in Photoshop or other professional raster or Vector programs
  • CMYK mode with minimum 150ppi/dpi at print size but 300ppi/dpi preferred
  • Do not flatten art if it contains soft edges or fades. Only save as .psd or .tif files
  • File formats include .tif / .psd / .jpg / .png / .pdf

Downloading an image from the internet at 72ppi and upscaling to 300ppi does not increase the quality. If the art looks either jagged or blurred on screen then the print will look the same or worse.

6Pantone colour
Pantone colour, or PMS colour matching cannot be guaranteed due to digital printing limitations. Solid PMS colours that are required for corporate logos may not match exactly. In most cases this does not present a problem but for critical applications a printed swatch could be sent for customer selection. Added fees may apply.
7Shirt suppliers
Shirt suppliers are chosen that can provide a reliable and consistent product. Most major brands are represented to provide ease of ordering. Fabric styles are available in a range of premium shirts through to budget promotional t-shirts. Preferred fabric is 100% ringspun cotton to give the best possible result for direct to garment digital printing. Some cotton/polyester blends are suitable but anything below 80/20 % ratio will give disappointing results. Polyester fabric like Cool-Dry can only be printed if it is white fabric.
8Pique knit polo shirts
Pique knit polo shirts have a very open weave and are not very suitable for DTG printing. For best results chose a tight woven cotton product.
9Customer supplied shirts
Customer supplied shirts are welcomed but we suggest using shirts from our preferred list. Fabrics from different manufacturers can give varying results.
